  • Introduction to Hand Made Printmaking suitable for Beginners & Improvers

Wednesday 25th June – Mono printing from glass slabs

Thursday 26th June – Mono printing from woodblocks

Friday 27th and Saturday 28th June – Collagraph (printing from a collage)

All classes run from 10am – 5pm

This course (one day, two day, three day or four day) will introduce students to making prints by hand, without the need of a printing press, using techniques which can be easily continued afterwards at home. Recycled materials such as textured papers, fabrics, foliage etc. will be incorporated for interesting effects. The studio is environmentally friendly and all inks are water based.

Fees include all materials but students can also bring their choice of papers etc. if they wish. Students are asked to bring visual ideas in the form of drawings, photographs etc.

 

  • Introduction to Japanese Bookbinding suitable for Beginners & Improvers

Friday 4th July / 10am – 4pm

This one day workshop will show students how to create their own personal notebooks by using Japanese stab binding and accordion book making techniques.

Minimum 6 – Maximum 8 persons

 Course Fee €65 includes all materials, but students may wish to bring their own papers for the covers.

 

  • Introduction to Japanese Woodblock Printmaking suitable for Beginners & Improvers

Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July / 10am – 5pm

This two day workshop will introduce students to the ancient art form of Japanese woodblock printmaking and will cover the traditional registration method of making multi-colour prints. This technique is hand produced, environmentally friendly and can be easily continued afterwards at home.

All traditional tools and materials are provided and students are asked to bring visual ideas in the form of drawings, photographs etc.

  • Enamelling & Silver Jewellery for Beginners & Improvers

Thurs 26th – Sat 28th June / 10am-5pm

3 day course exploring many techniques in Silver Jewellery making & kiln enamelling.

  • Metalcraft for Beginners & Improvers

Mon 30th June – Thurs 3rd July / 10am-4pm

Explore many techniques in Metalsmithing & Jewellery-making including enamelling, soldering, forming, repousse work, surface decoration & more…

Minimum 6 – Maximum 9 persons

Course Fee €170

Materials Fee €15 – includes copper & gilding metal, enamels, solders & sundries.

 

  • Silver Jewellery Making for Beginners & Improvers

Sat July 5th & Sun July 6th / 10am-5pm

Learn to make your own designs or replicate a chosen piece of jewellery using precious metals, stones & other chosen materials. Students will learn many aspects of working with silver including soldering, cutting, filing, stone-setting, chain-making & more.

Minimum 6 – Maximum 9 persons

  • Pottery Making Techniques suitable for Beginners & Improvers

4 day CourseTuesday June 24th- Friday June 27th June / 10am – 5pm

Learn how to make and decorate your very own ceramic pots using a wide selection of techniques such as coiling , slab-making and throwing as well as learning decorating slip techniques.

Minimum 6 – Maximum 10 persons

  • Weekend Pottery Wheel Course suitable for Beginners & Improvers

Learn the art of throwing on the Potter’s wheel to create your own tableware and decorate with coloured slips.

  • Weekend Pottery Wheel Course suitable for Beginners & Improvers

Sat 19th & Sun 20th July  / 10am- 5pm

Maximum 6 persons

  • Tapestry Weaving suitable for Beginners & Improvers

Mon 23rd – Fri 27th June / 10am- 4pm

Minimum 8 – Maximum 10 persons

Following a morning of designing, students will weave a Tapestry on a wooden frame using a variety of textured and coloured yarns. All materials will be provided.

• Should Grennan Mill cancel the course, your monies will be refunded in full
